My dog is afraid of nail clippers, so I was really hoping this scratch board would be a good alternative to help file his nails naturally as he climbs up the gentle slope. So far, I’m impressed with the overall quality, the product is very well made, sturdy, and feels durable enough for regular use.I really like the thoughtful design, especially that it comes with two replaceable sandpaper sheets. That makes it more than a one-time-use product and adds long-term value. The only thing I’m unsure about is how easy it will be to purchase replacement sandpaper in the future. With a bit of training, this has the potential to turn nail care into a much less stressful experience compared to traditional clippers. Overall, it’s a practical and well-designed solution for pet owners looking for a gentler way to maintain their dog’s nails.
Pros:Seems solidly builtToys are corded type but appear to be good qualityComes with extra sand papers to swap out once neededScratching paper size is rather large which is good.Wood seems to be okay quality.Cons:Not a super heavy item. I could definitely imagine some bigger dogs might just grab onto the toys and start dragging the whole board around the house or just shake it around causing pure chaos.Overall seems like a decent solution for nails if your dog hates clippers or filing and will do the scratching movement. I still question dogs possibly utilizing this as a makeshift toy to shake around though. For that reason I attached the ropes over the top so I could have them try it out and remove one or both easily if it became a problem.
This scratch board is very nicely made. The bamboo is thick and sturdy, similar to a cutting board, and the kit includes several replacement sandpaper pads plus two rope‑tied balls you can attach for extra interest. The overall construction feels solid and thoughtfully put together. The size worked fine for my medium Cavalier, but during the short time he interacted with it, he managed to tip it over. Because of that, I think this board is probably better suited for smaller dogs or calmer pups who won’t push against it as much. The board itself is well built — it just doesn’t have the weight to stay put if a dog gets enthusiastic. As for enjoyment, my dog spent a few minutes investigating it and then lost interest, which is more about his personality than the product. For dogs who enjoy scratch‑based activities or need a nail‑filing alternative, the surface feels effective and the included pads give you plenty of use. It’s a thoughtful design that could work really well for the right dog.Overall, this is a nicely made scratch board with good materials and accessories — just be sure your dog’s size and play style match what this board is designed for.
This dog scratch board is a smart and stress-free way to help trim nails. The bamboo base feels sturdy, and the sandpaper surface files nails gradually without needing clippers. It’s especially helpful for dogs who are nervous about traditional nail trims. The included rope toys make it more interactive and keep dogs engaged during training. I also like that the sandpaper sheets are replaceable, which makes it long-lasting. Overall, it’s a gentle and effective nail care solution for dogs of all sizes.
This scratch board is a great way to file your dog’s nails without using clippers. My dog was scared of nail clippers, so this worked much better for us. It was easy to set up and comes with extra sandpaper sheets and rope toys which is nice. The board feels sturdy and the angle is good for dogs to scratch comfortably. The only downside is the board is not very stable and moves around when my dog scratches on it, so I have to hold it or put it against something. After a few uses I already noticed my dog’s nails getting shorter and smoother. Definitely a good purchase if your dog hates getting their nails clipped.
